Can ABA Therapy Replace School?

No, ABA therapy cannot replace school, but it can complement it by helping children with autism build the foundational skills needed to succeed in a classroom environment. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) focuses on improving communication, attention, social interaction, and daily living skills, all of which support learning and participation in school.

While schools provide academic education, ABA therapy teaches the behavioral and functional skills that make learning possible like following directions, managing emotions, and staying on task. Some children may receive ABA therapy before entering school or alongside schooling to strengthen these abilities.

For children who need more one-on-one support, in-home ABA therapy in Maryland can act as an intensive early intervention program to prepare them for a classroom setting later on.

At All Star ABA, we work hand-in-hand with families and ABA therapy in Maryland to help children build confidence, independence, and readiness for school and beyond.
